Get Involved! Be a Part of the Action.
The 2009 Flint Hills International Children’s Festival, in its ninth year, will fill Ordway Center, Rice Park, and Landmark Plaza in downtown Saint Paul with more than 33,000 children and families from Tuesday, May 26 — Sunday, May 31, 2009. The Festival began with the vision of presenting the best performing arts the world has to offer to the children of Minnesota and the region, and make it accessible to children of all socio-economic backgrounds. As an extension of Education and Community Engagement at Ordway Center, the Festival’s goal is to introduce children to the world of performing arts, and to explore the cultures from which they, and others, derive. The world’s top artists for children perform puppetry, dance, music, drama, and acrobatics, while expressing the common hopes, struggles, joys, and sorrows children all over the world experience.
Each Volunteer will receive a Festival T-shirt, access to the Artist/Guest Tent, and discounted tickets as available.
Volunteer opportunities start long before the Festival gets underway. Get involved now by submitting your name and contact information below!
Volunteers helped make sure the ARTmoves Parade stepped off on time and that young artists in each of the Activity Tents had an extra pair of hands when they needed them. They also ensured that area schools attending shows and eating lunch in the park stayed safe while enjoying their time in Saint Paul. Thank you to every volunteer for helping. Every person, no matter how small their involvement, was essential to making the Festival a success!
SPCPA Interns
Each of the selected interns, Brittany Juntunen, Dana Diederich, Katie LeCapitaine, Liz Johnson, and Makinna Oestreich, proved invaluable to the success of the 2008 Festival and we appreciate all of their hard work and dedication throughout the semester!
Ordway Center maintains a current list of all volunteer and internship opportunities on our Volunteer page.
