Digital Kids Project -- Student Video Documentary

In its fifth year, Digital Kids brings a resident media artist into two Twin Cities' classrooms to lead classes through a documentary process that focuses on the Festival as its subject. Students from Frost Lake Magnet and Webster Magnet in St. Paul and Keewaydin in Minneapolis will begin researching Festival artists in the fall and will create a documentary that captures the art forms and cultures represented in the artist’s performance. In preparation for the interviews with company members, students learn the foundations of interviewing, documenting, editing, and researching with local media artist Usry Alleyne. A final, edited copy of the documentary will be shown in the Box Office lobby during the Festival Family Days.

Digital Kids is sponsored by Best Buy Children’s Foundation.
